Grammarly's parent company Superhuman faces a class action lawsuit filed by journalist Julia Angwin after its "Expert Review" feature was exposed for generating AI writing feedback attributed to real journalists, authors, and academics — including Stephen King, Neil deGrasse Tyson, and dozens of working tech reporters — without any consent. The company disabled the feature the same day the suit was filed, but the case could set significant legal precedent for how right-of-publicity law applies to AI systems that commercially exploit real people's identities.
