Ukraine launched sustained drone attacks on St. Petersburg throughout the June 3–6 St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, striking an oil terminal, a naval corvette at Kronstadt, and other military infrastructure over 1,000 kilometers from the Ukrainian border. The strikes — which came as Putin publicly rejected Zelensky's call for direct peace talks — cast a visible pall over Russia's flagship economic event and exposed the limits of Russian air defense, even as 20,000 delegates from 130 countries conducted business under columns of black smoke.
