Russia launched the largest aerial assault of the war over May 13-14, 2026, firing more than 1,600 drones and missiles across 30 hours — nearly five times the scale of any previous single attack. Ukrainian air defenses intercepted 94% of drones and 73% of missiles, but at least 15 people were killed, including a 13-year-old girl in a collapsed Kyiv apartment building, and the attack exposed widening gaps in interceptor supply chains for both conventional and ballistic missile defense.
