Anonymousabout 4 hours ago

The UK disclosed on April 9, 2026, that it tracked three Russian submarines — including two from Russia's secretive GUGI deep-sea unit — operating over critical undersea cables and pipelines in the North Atlantic for more than a month before forcing them to retreat. Defence Secretary John Healey warned President Putin of "serious consequences," announced £100 million in additional submarine-hunting funding, and launched new joint patrols with Norway, in what amounts to the most direct public confrontation over subsea infrastructure since the 2022 Nord Stream explosions.
