Austrian police are investigating the deliberate introduction of bromadiolone, a potent anticoagulant rodenticide, into HiPP baby food jars sold at SPAR supermarkets, in what authorities describe as a criminal extortion scheme. The recall has spread across Austria, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia, affecting more than 1,500 stores, though no consumers are known to have ingested the contaminated product.
